Some individuals find that their spiritual or religious beliefs are an important part of how they understand their experiences, cope with stress, and make decisions. When this is meaningful to a client, these beliefs can be thoughtfully incorporated into the counseling process.
Counseling remains grounded in professional standards of care and evidence-based approaches, while also allowing space for spiritual beliefs when they are relevant to a client’s goals and preferences.
Please note: Spiritual or religious topics are never introduced by the counselor and are discussed only when a client chooses to bring them into the conversation.
