Collegiate Mental Health

Modern library interior with bookshelves and seating.

College is a time of change. You don't have to navigate it alone.

College can be an exciting time of independence, growth, and new experiences. It can also bring pressure, uncertainty, loneliness, and expectations that can feel difficult to manage.

You may be adjusting to life away from home, trying to find your place, managing academics and relationships, or figuring out who you are outside of the roles you've known. Sometimes the transition feels harder than you expected.

Therapy can provide a private, supportive space to process what's happening, better understand yourself, and develop the tools to navigate college and the transition into adulthood.

When Everything Starts to Feel Like a Lot

College students are often balancing more than just academics. You're managing new responsibilities while navigating friendships, relationships, finances, family expectations, and decisions about your future.

You may be experiencing:

  • Anxiety, worry, or overthinking
  • Academic or performance pressure
  • Difficulty adjusting to college life
  • Loneliness or difficulty finding connection
  • Homesickness
  • Relationship or friendship concerns
  • Family conflict or changing family dynamics
  • Difficulty setting boundaries
  • Perfectionism or fear of failure
  • Low self-esteem or self-doubt
  • Stress, burnout, or difficulty finding balance
  • Uncertainty about your identity or future
  • Difficulty managing the expectations placed on yourself

You don't have to wait until you're struggling academically or emotionally to seek support.

Creating Your Own Path

College often comes with the freedom to make more decisions for yourself, but that freedom can also feel overwhelming. You may find yourself questioning what you want, who you want to be, or whether the path you're on actually fits you.

Therapy can help you slow down and create space to explore those questions. Together, we can work on developing greater self-awareness, confidence, emotional resilience, and clarity about what matters to you.

The goal isn't to have everything figured out. It's to develop the skills and self-understanding to navigate uncertainty with greater confidence.

More Than Getting Through College

Your college experience doesn't have to be defined by simply getting through the next semester.

Therapy can be a place to work through current challenges while also developing a stronger foundation for the years ahead. We can explore patterns in your relationships, your expectations of yourself, and the ways you respond to stress, while building healthier strategies that can continue serving you beyond college.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and personalized. I draw from evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, trauma-informed care, and Motivational Interviewing, tailoring our work to your experiences and goals.

What to Expect When Starting Counseling

Starting counseling as a college student can feel intimidating, especially if this is your first time seeking counseling. I strive to create a welcoming, respectful environment where you feel heard and supported. Counseling sessions focus on your goals and what feels most important to you.

You don't have to figure it all out at once.

If you're navigating the challenges of college, adjusting to a new stage of life, or simply wanting a space to better understand yourself, therapy can provide a place to begin.
